Dr. DANIELLE ALEXANDER she/her
Dr. Danielle Alexander’s early experiences as an athlete inspired her to become certified as a figure skating coach and choreographer. While working collaboratively with an athlete with Down Syndrome who was training to compete in the Special Olympics, she recognized her interest in parasport and exploring what it means to be an effective coach for athletes with disabilities.
This passion has not only influenced her professional pursuits, but also her academic interests. Danielle’s master’s research was among the first to include an all-female sample of highly successful Paralympic athletes (i.e., who collectively achieved an average of eight combined Paralympic and Para Pan American medals) and has been published in the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology in a Special Edition on Sports Coaching.
Danielle’s facilitation style is collaborative, passionate, and authentic. She is looking forward to partnering with coaches from all levels to explore how performance and mental health can be enhanced for all sports participants.
